A child like Don

Don HuanDon has optic atrophy.  His vision is significantly impaired, but he can read if the font is large enough.  He loves sports like swimming and playing football with his friends.

But until Amber began funding lessons last year Don had no idea that he could do something his friends don’t do – play the piano, read music, and even write a little too. He takes great pride in this and loves to play for them when they come to visit, particularly when he can sing along to his favourite rock and pop pieces.

As if all that that weren’t enough, Don has just passed his Grade 1 piano exam, and is working towards Grade 2 next year.

Don’s mother says music is his life – he just loves it. It boosts his confidence and provides an endless source of fun and relaxation.  She and Don are very happy with his Amber grant.
