Amber’s 2.6 Challenge raised an incredible £5,593!!

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on fundraising for UK charities with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income. The London Marathon alone, which should have taken place on 26 April, is the world’s biggest one-day fundraising event and raised more than £66.4 million for thousands of charities in 2019.

In response, the organisers of the largest mass-participation events across the country came together to create a new campaign called The 2.6 Challenge to raise vital funds to help to save the UK’s charities.

Amber got involved in the event straight away – we set up our own 2.6 Music Challenge: play or sing two pieces, donate £2.60 or more, and nominate 6 people to do the same.

The response was truly fantastic – we have been overwhelmed by everyone’s creativity and generosity! As well as much-needed funds, we received so many amazing videos and photos of everyone’s efforts. Here is a selection of just a few of our incredible fundraisers:

Neyo, you're amazing!!! Thank you and well done ❤️😍🥳👏

Amber’s 2.6 Challenge has been a great success. Every donation we receive makes a difference to the number of blind and partially sighted children we are able to support. We simply can’t thank everyone enough!
